About the Artist/Builder Irwin Schuster, the creator of MerriTime Models custom-built nautical caricatures, is a native of the Tampa Bay area. 1957 Graduate of the Georgia Tech School of Architecture, Industrial Design Dep't. Active graphic designer and past president of a Boston area consulting design firm creating products, corporate graphics, advertising, packaging, promotional literature and trade show materials for clients in various fields. These include medical products and services; food and food delivery; sportswear, sports figures and athletic equipment; marine, consumer and industrial products. Member of the USS CONSTITUTION Model Shipwright Guild. Past Editor, Broadside!, monthly newsletter of USSCMSG. Member of the Tampa Bay Ship Model Society. Member of the Nautical Research Guild. Past editorial assistant for Shop Notes, Nautical Research Journal, quarterly publication of NRG. Avid model builder with a particular interest in turn-of-the-century, working sail.
