WHAT WE DO: MerriTime Models will create a custom-built caricature model of YOUR boat; design, finish, colors, name and numbers, of any event, in any conditions you describe.
CARICATURE?: MerriTime "caricature" models are "art", not intended to be precision scale in complete detail, but will be made from your photos, brochures, and sales drawings or lines drawings (if available), with appropriate significant features.
The more material you can supply, the more accurate we can be in our representation of the craft and event.
Each model/scene is carved and decorated to order. Characters will be caricatured with either wooden-ball heads or sculpted polymer clay figures.
PRICE: MerriTime model/scenes are quoted individually ($U.S.), according to the complexity of the vessel and scene, and support material available.
SIZE: We have found that 1:32 is a convienient scale (one foot = 3/8 inch), but other scales may be more appropriate for some vessels.
The overall size of the finished display should be taken into consideration (and specified, if a particular shelf, nook, pedestal or mantle has been chosen in advance of ordering). An approximate case size will be estimated with your quote, if a limit is not specified in advance.
OPTIONS: MerriTime caricature models may be ordered as static mounted displays without scenic elements or characters, if desired. Half models for wall display will be considered, as well.
CASES: Cases are always recommended for ship and boat models to minimize potential damage.
Standard cases for MerriTime caricature models consist of acrylic covers on carved-water bases, trimmed with hardwood half-rope. Static models and half models are mounted on appropriate hardwood bases or plaques.
NAMEPLATES: Brass name/dedication plates can be provided.
DELIVERY: Caricature models can be produced in as little as two weeks, if schedule allows. Please allow up to six weeks for normal circumstances.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO PLACE AN ORDER:
Any drawings available will be useful. Photocopies are acceptable (original material will be returned).
Overall dimensions, particularly if drawings are not available.
Photos; multiple views of boat, particularly direct side elevations (abeam), transom, cockpit, elements critical to story (such as a dinghy, fish, etc.); facial photos of people involved.
Colors; paint chips are most helpful, but any guidance is useful. Boat color will be determined from photos, if that's all we have. Please describe clothing style and color, as well.
VISA or MasterCard information; Shipping address.
HINT:Think of your MerriTime Model in terms of an illustration to a story of the event to be depicted.
TERMS: 75% of agreed price will be charged to your account when your custom MerriTime model is approved by digital photos via www. Balance will be charged, plus shipping, on confirmation of receipt.
SHIPPING: UPS unless otherwise specified. Models will be insured for full value charged.
TAX: Florida sales tax will be charged on in-state sales.
CONDITIONS: If a commissioned model should be rejected at any time prior to consummation of sale, it may be put on the retail market by MerriTime Models, and sold as is, or modified, at the sole discretion of builder.
